Faster at 66

Monday, November 12th, 2007

I’ve reached level 66 with Kronas now and have eventually hoarded enough gold to buy my epic mount, [Reins of the Swift Stormsaber].

I also went, after getting my mount, and ran Zul’Farrak to get [Carrot on a Stick] which I never got when I ran the instance at around level 40. So I have a new epic mount, +100% speed, [Carrot on a Stick] and [Mithril Spurs] on my riding boots to give me a speed increase of around 112%.

Questing will be all that faster now.

When you’re hot… you’re level 63

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

So I’ve been questing a bit more and dinged 63 earlier on today. It didn’t take too long with a full bar’s worth of rested XP. Also doing quests in Zangarmarsh is great as there are a lot of mobs eavenly spread out and they all seem to be level 61 - 63 as far as I’ve seen. The quests overlap quite a bit so it’s easy to go out and do 4-5 quests before returning to complete them and pick up more.

I met up with a friend to do some of the Hellfire group quests, mainly just to get [Bladefist's Breadth]. Between levels 62 and 63 I managed to pick up some fairly decent hunter rewards from questing: [Expedition Repeater] and [Expedition Forager Leggings] (which I’ve replaced on hitting 63 with [Felscale Pants]).

Finally at 62

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I finally got off my arse and levelled Kronas from 61 to 62 last night. I only had 1/2 - 2/3 of the level to complete and was fully rested.

It took me a total of 4 hours to level up - that’s 8 hours of non-rested time (or thereabouts). All the quests I did were situated in Hellfire Penisula, mostly around level 63.

Once I’d dinged, I completed the quests I was on and hearthed back to Shattrath City where I ported to Stormwind. Picked up the level 62 talents, and upgraded my legs and shoulders armour.

So it’s around 16 hours playtime from 61 - 62 (probably a bit high), meaning it may be something similar from 62 - 63.

Nice thing is, I made about 50G in the process. Well back to the questing.

Tantharos - level 10

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

I’ve levelled Tantharos to level 10 now. I followed the same quest list as for everyone else I’ve levelled, however doing it with this character took a while as before level 10 you are essentially playing as a caster/healer which seems to take forever to level with and isn’t particularly good for soloing.

Once some of the newer talents kicked in at levels 8 things became easier, roots helped a lot in terms of reducing the amount of damage I was taking due to keeping mobs at a distance for longer.

Respecced Tantharos’ trades to leatherworking instead of skinning, which I’m doing with all the alts, see later post.

Tantharos trades are now as follows:

  • Leatherworking: 79 (+79)
  • Skinning: 22 (+21)
  • Cooking: 14 (+10)
  • Fishing: 10 (+10)
  • First Aid: 21 (+20)

Druid Quest

The quest for pinging 10 as a Druid is the bear form quest called [10]:Heeding the Call which runs through a fair few quests taking you to Darnasus, which is a pain as I got a portal to Stormwind when I started the character and have no flightpaths set up!

Anyway, after getting another port back to Darnasus you talk to Mathrengyl Bearwalker and he sends you, via a spell, to Moonglade where you eventually have to talk to a bear spirit. After which you have to head back to the trainer in Darnasus which I thought would pose a problem for me as I didn’t have any flightpaths set up as I’ve mentioned.

Fortunately you get them set up for you so you can fly straight back to Darnasus. From there you have to go to Darkshore and kill Lunaclaw for [10]: Body and Heart who’s spirit will send you back to Mathrengyl Bearwalker who will in turn teach you the bear form.

Killing Lunaclaw was relatively easy. Once all the outside mobs had been cleared I used the moondust to summon him, pulled him outside then using a combonation of roots and any of the ranged abilities nailed him.

After doing this I hearthed back to Stormwind with my bear form and my nifty spell to get me to Kalimdor quickly.

I’ve levelled Tantharos to level 6 now. This was done by levelling to 2 in Shadowglen and then going to Darnasus to buy a portal to Stormwind. Then it was to Northshire to level from 2 to 6, completing all the quests there and a couple in Goldshire.
